Net Neutrality

Definition: the guiding principle that preserves the free and open Internet.

The biggest cable and telephone companies would like to charge money for smooth access to Web sites, speed to run applications, and permission to plug in devices. These network giants believe they should be able to charge Web site operators, application providers and device manufacturers for the right to use the network. Those who don't make a deal and pay up will experience discrimination: Their sites won't load as quickly, and their applications and devices won't work as well. Without legal protection, consumers could find that a network operator has blocked the Web site of a competitor, or slowed it down so much that it's unusable.

If this would ever happen, a lot of people might just stop using the internet. But since it's so part of our lives, people might just pay that extra to get internet. If you don't pay it could be slow or not work at all. If we had to pay to receive Google, our researching would be harder to do. Now there are other search engines that are used other than Google; they might be our others options.

3 websites using order/unordered list

Double Click Ad Planner:
This site shows you an ordered list of the different web pages that are used commonly. It just uses numbers to list the site. It does help that everything is in ordered list because it shows you what people go to the most. The user doesn't really need to improve the list because its already well organized. The list is necessary. I like the website.

Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_websites
This site uses an unordered list. It only uses bullet list. It helps to just get the general information out there. Since it's Wikipedia, people can change information and maybe the way it shows the list. You could probably give it titles of the different general information to help you differentiate them. I like this website.

UCSF:
This website uses an ordered list. It uses bullet points and it is also in alphabetical order. This does help because it gives general information. There's no need to improve the list. There's no need to do it differently. I like this website.

Here is an example of a special list character:

5 Websites

5 Websites
Google: What I like about Google is that obviously its a search site. You can search whatever you want and it helps with homework and takes you to different websites that you're searching for. Even the word "Google" is considered a verb. "Just google it." See? What I don't like about Google is that the more you search for stuff the more off topic it gets, especially with pictures. Overall, Google is a great site. It sorts what you are looking for of the best to the least websites. Some people say that Bing is better but honestly you can't use Bing as a verb. I wouldn't really change anything about Google because it's still updating itself. I give Google a 5 out of 5.

Facebook: What I like about Facebook is that you can post about anything you want. It's a social site. You can chat with your friends, post pictures, video chat, play games, ect. What I don't like about Facebook is that when it updates its kind of confusing because one day it will be normal and then the next it change completely and you are having trouble with where things are, but you do learn to adjust. Overall I think Facebook is a good site. Almost everyone has one. But the new thing now is Twitter. Facebook even helps you remember you family and friends birthdays. I give Facebook a 4 out of 5.

Youtube: What I like about Youtube is that everything is on there. There are videos that go viral, such as the girl who burned her hair off, and there are videos that can help you cook some soup. Either way, Youtube is a good search site that gives you a presentation of what you are looking for. What I don't like about Youtube is that there are a lot of ads that take up to 5-30 seconds. The longest 5 seconds ever is waiting to hit the skip button. Youtube should just remove all ads, they save a bunch of time. Some ads are cool and all but still. Although some videos don't have ads which i don't know why. Youtube also updates and does make it easier to maneuver around better. Overall I really like Youtube. One can spend hours on Youtube and procrastinate a lot. That's why you have to learn to use your time wisely. The only thing i would change is the amount of ads given. I give Youtube a 5 out of 5.

Addicting Games: What I like about Addicting Games is that you have a variety of games for whatever you like best. They keep putting new games all the time on there and still keep the old ones if in any case you would like to got back and play your favorite game. It goes from gory bloody violence games to cute little girly dress up games. Just like its title, there are a lot of addicting games that you can spend your whole time on because there that good. There isn't really anything that I don't like about Addicting Games. It's a pretty good site. They set everything according to what type of game your looking for making it easy access. Overall if I was bored and I wanted to play a game I would go this website. I give Addicting Games a 5 out of 5.

WSOCTV: What I like about WSOCTV is that it gives you the latest news as soon as they receive it. If you missed your daily news just go to WSOCTV and it should catch you up with whats going around in the world. It also updates you with the weather and traffic. There's nothing I don't like about the website because it's made for news and it has everything you need. Overall, this website is where I go to when I need to know the weather and it even gives you the percentage like it does on t.v. of the amount of rain that is going to fall. There's even videos about certain news that you could watch. There really isn't anything that I would change about this website because I really don't go on it a lot. I give WSOCTV a 5 out of 5.
